Self Sabotage
Let's talk about self sabotage. Self sabotage is exactly how it sounds. You're stopping yourself from doing the things you know you're supposed to be doing. Self sabotage doesn't allow movement or progression in your life, because you become stuck in a demonic cycle. You're doing things that you know are hurting your life, but you can't seem to stop. I will be honest, I have self sabotaged many times in my life, so I understand how hard how it is to break the cycle. There just comes a time where you have to self reflect and decide, you don't want to be like a hamster stuck on a wheel going nowhere. You want to break the cycle and do the things God has created you to do. You want to be who God has called you to be. God wants us to work so he can bless the work of our hands. He wants us to grow, change, thrive, succeed, and use us for his glory. We're never meant to be stagnant; never moving forward.
Self Sabotage can look like a numerous of things. For example, we could struggle with laziness. Laziness is when you don't want to do anything. You know you need to get up and get things done, but physically you just don't want to move. You end up wasting time away and accomplishing nothing. In Proverbs 21:25-26 it says, The desire of the lazy man kills him, For his hands refuse to labor. This scripture shows us how laziness can lead to death if we refuse to work. It leads to physical death because we need to work to make money to live, afford things, and survive. It can also lead to spiritual death if you aren't getting up and making the time to be in God's presence. Spiritual death from not reading the bible, not praying, not going to church, or praising and worshipping God. In Proverbs 18:9 It says, He who is slothful in his work Is a brother to him who is a great destroyer. This explains to us the seriousness of how much God hates laziness, and how not being in his presence causes spiritual death as well.
Another form of self sabotage is a lack of self discipline. Proverbs 15:32 says, "Whoever ignores discipline desires themselves, but the one who listens to corretion gains understanding." Like I said before, you need to self examine and decide it is time for a change. Time to no longer continue the bad habits that are not allowing you to be all you can be in life. God has given you a vision or an idea of who your meant to be, he has plans and purpose for all of us. Don't fall into the Devil's lies where he tells you you're nothing and no one. You don't ever have to do anything on your own, go to God and ask him to help you. He is always there and wanting to help us. John 8:36 says, He who the son sets free is free indeed. Ask him to set you free of the habits you've had causing you to self sabotage. Ask him to remove laziness and procrastination in your life. Tell you him you surrender and want to pursue all he has for you. You want to walk in your calling and anointing. You are never alone when you have God in your life. God said in Matthew 11:28 "Come to me all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Romans 12:2 says, "Do not comform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will." This scripture encourages us to transform our mind (the way we think) so we can break free from the characteristics we may have that cause us to self sabotage. Change is not easy and it can also be scary but God tells us he didn't give us a Spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind. Coming out of bad habits that you may have had for years, won't just go away over night. You can practice self discipline as well as going to God for help and you will start to see the chnage. You will start to see the progress in your life. You will watch yourself transform. As people, we are all a work in progress. We all make mistakes but God loves us so much, we are able to repent and start over. Try making goals for yourself, whether it's a goal for the day, the week, or the year, and work towards those goals. Include God in everything you do and the desicions you make. He will guide you in the right direction and help you accomplish the goals, visions, and dreams you have. Don't Forget, God is the one who put the dreams, visions, and desires of your heart inside you.
Thank you for sharing this powerful word. I struggle with procrastination, and so making goals and keeping them is important. The tips are great. Every blessing to you.
